| Zusammenfassung: | The concept of public space has been redefined in the view of the privatization of space, the dissolution of public/private domains, and the intensification of the use of social networks, internet, and mobile media in the processes of discussion, appropriation, and construction of the everyday spaces of life. With emphasis on the first two processes, and through a selection of recent temporary interventions in Rio de Janeiro, this article aims to discuss different forms of transitional appropriations that deal with the tension between public and private spheres, as well as with the characteristic of allowing the construction of collective spaces for the contemporary city. As a contribution, the article acknowledged the change that this type of interventions cause in the dissolution of domains and how the use of private spaces in public spaces and the public use in private spaces can be enhanced. |
