Sumario:This research is born out of the necessity for defining the concepts that guide and structure the areas of the curriculum of the Faculty of Architecture of the Catholic University of Colombia. The objective of the research was centered in the construction of the state of the art of the concepts that define the constructive design seen from the technical, structural and constructive processes, as a part of the projectual action that implies the architectural design. The applied methodology can be considered as deductive, as long as it studies a long historical process, of which the concepts were summarized which are good to supplement the construction of the meaning of constructive design. By way of conclusion we can say that in design terms of architecture, most of the creative aspects and the constructive are constituted in mutual ways, that is to say that if the constructive elements linked in an architectural fact, come from the exercise of the design, the architectural project will surely be much more satisfactory, as long as the constructive design has advanced all operative process.
