要約:This state of the art reviews the concept of theory from various disciplines and focuses mainly on the concept of architectural theory. It explains how theory is born out of the thinking process humans develop in front of reality. This process envelops the building of critical judgement helped by historical reasoning. It also reviews theory related to architectural practice through history. Considers how in architecture the idea of putting theory at the service of practical specifities has become a constant according to the needs of "distant generations in time and space". Observes though, in spite of some essays on the history of architectural history consider the bipolarity between "idea and reality", saying theory and practice, it can be considered how theory has always been present in the act of design and building, in the sense that theory explains and gives foundation to design.
