Summary:The pedagogy used at École des Beaux-Arts is reviewed through the prism of publications by professors dedicated at that time to the theory of architecture and to this end, reliance on analysis of sources such as: the notes on the organization theory courses, correspondence between teachers and management theory, reports of activities from the École, and architectural competitions publications conducted by this. In this paper there are three specific topics: the repercussions on the work of polytechnic École Jean-Louis-Nicolas Durand (1760- 1834) and Léonce Reynaud (1803-1880), the work of Georges Gromort path (1870-1961) and André Gutton (1904-2002), the only theory teachers at the École des Beaux-Arts that published in the twentieth century, and finally the role of the image in disseminating models, teaching in the case of Vincent, Fréal et Cie’s editorial, who was specialized in disseminating works linked to the activity of the École.
