Desde el punto de vista constructivo, hubo tres sistemas: la casa de eneas, considerada como el modelo de transición, la casa de mampostería, que no pudo desarrollarse dada la escasez del material; y la casa de bahareque, sistema establecido que consolidó la ciudad. A pesar de un proceso de modificaciones en lan vivienda que alteraron el sistema, éste tuvo vigencia hasta el primer tercio del siglo XX. Dentro de ese tipo constructivo se mencionan las tipologías morfológicas y las casas notables que pudieron ser documentadas.ABSTRACTThis work presents a resume of typical modes to construct dwellings during colonial period in Maracaibo. There were tree main construction systems; the eneas house, which is considered the transition mode; the stones house that can not be stablished due the scarcity of materials, and the bahareque house, stablished mode in the consolidation of the city. In spite of the fact the alterations on the house and the sistem during the XIX century, the bahareque continues valid till the begining of the XX century. This work presents the types of bahareque houses and the documented remarkable ones.
