要約:Augmented Reality (AR) applications mix, by means of display devices, visualization of the real-world environment with virtual objects in real time. The use of AR as a support for the work execution in the construction industry is still insufficiently explored. This study aims to propose the application of AR, using a wireless Head Mounted Display (HMD), to aid in wood-frame assembly. The intended innovation in this research is the developing assembly guidance in AR using a wood-frame wall model displayed in real scale. The model and the assembly sequence were designed in Building Information Model (BIM) and visualized in AR. An investigative approach about the possibilities of such integration is being proposed and developed, including the development of HMD specific application. User experience evaluations were conducted. The participants answered a profile characterization questionnaire and then experienced the AR through the HMD. After mounting the wood-frame panel, another questionnaire was administered to ascertain the user experience quality. All participants were college students with no prior experience in wood-framed panels assembly. The results obtained showed that it was possible to accomplish the panel assembly using the proposed system. From a technology innovation perspective, this initiative has the potential to benefit the training of people in wood frame construction system, which is still in its infancy in Brazil and to propose the application of AR as training and technology support for construction processes.
