Although it never managed to approach the requested demand, the proposals developed initially by the Department of Urbanism and then by the public agents that were dedicated to financing and housing management such as Caja de Vivienda Popular, Instituto de Crédito Territorial and Banco Central Hipotecario, marked a precedent in terms of urban, architectural, technical and social experimentation, in collaborative work with the leading studios of architects of the moment. Between 1938 and 1958, this public agents designed and built paradigmatic neighborhoods as Centenario (1938), Popular Modelo Norte (1942), Los Alcázares (1949), Muzú (1949), Quinta Mutis (1955) and Polo Club (1958), that give an evolutionary account of this process of transformation, marked by hygienist concern, urban exploration, constructive efficiency and social assistance. La gestión del Estado en los planteamientos de vivienda en serie en Bogotá a mediados de siglo XX fue definitiva para la modernización y transformación de grandes sectores de la ciudad. Aunque nunca logró acercarse a la demanda solicitada, los planteamientos desarrollados inicialmente por el Departamento de Urbanismo y luego por los agentes públicos que se dedicaron a la financiación y gestión de vivienda como la Caja de Vivienda Popular, el Instituto de Crédito Territorial y el Banco Central Hipotecario, marcaron un precedente en cuanto a la experimentación urbana, arquitectónica, técnica y social, en trabajo colaborativo con las principales firmas de arquitectos del momento. Entre 1938 y 1958 se diseñaron y construyeron en la ciudad obras paradigmáticas como los barrios Centenario (1938), Popular Modelo Norte (1942), Los Alcázares (1949), Muzú (1949), Quinta Mutis (1955) y Polo Club (1958), que dan cuenta de manera evolutiva de ese proceso de transformación, marcado por la preocupación higienista, la exploración urbana, la eficiencia constructiva y la asistencia social.
