The whole of the representations and resultant formulations, which were expressed in the texts written by these two architects, can't be dissociated from the cities where they lived, neither from the debates installed in them. Junction of two different ways of thinking simultaneously architecture and race, city and citizenship. Constituyen la materia de esta reflexión dos discursos sobre lo moderno arquitectónico de inicios del siglo XX, en Brasil y Argentina, encarnados en las figuras de Lucio Costa y Alberto Prebisch, leídos a partir del cruce con sendos debates sobre la mezcla demográfica, encarnados a su vez por ciertas elites literarias que pensaban para cada caso la identidad brasilera, o la argentina. El conjunto de representaciones y formulaciones resultantes, expresas en los textos escritos por estos dos arquitectos no puede disociarse de las ciudades en las que vivieron, ni de los debates instalados en ellas.
