Europe and Latin America: 1880-1930”. The occasion is the celebration of two major events in the history of urban planning: the centenary of the death of Camillo Sitte and the publication in 1904 of the first town planning review, Der Städtebau, founded by Sitte and Theodor Goecke. The Brazilian conference is considered by its organisers a continuation of the international conference titled “Camillo Sitte and his followers” held in Venice in 1990 (organised by Guido Zucconi), with the additional contribution of the recent results of the “Camillo Sitte Symposium” held in Vienna in November 2003. The general aim of the conference is to encourage comparative research in Europe and Latin America in the formative years of town planning studies. Christiane Cresamann Collins viene a Brazil por primera vez para asistir al I International Conference on Urban History, “Camilo Sitte and the circulation of ideas on urban aesthetics. Europe and Latin America: 1880-1930”. La ocasión es la celebración de dos importantes eventos dentro de la historia del planeamiento urbano: el centenario del fallecimiento de Camilo Sitte y la publicación en 1904 de la primer revista de planeamiento urbano, Der Städtbau, fundada por Sitte y Theodor Goecke. La conferencia brasileña es considerada por sus organizadores una continuación de la conferencia internacional titulada “Camilo Sitte and his followers” celebrada en Viena 1990 (organizada por Guido Zucconi), con la contribución adicional de los recientes resultados del simposio  que tuvo lugar en Viena en noviembre de 2003: “Camilo Sitte Simposium”. El espíritu general de la conferencia es alentar la realización de investigaciones comparadas en Europa y en América Latina en los años formativos de los estudios de planeamiento urbano.
