Despite all its disadvantages, humans prefer to live in the urban scene.A metropolis causes mixed emotions. Some deal with our daily routes, with space we live in and we think belong to; some others, with collective memory, with the events sometimes traumatic and sometimes triumphant that have been engraved in certain places of our cities and in the minds of its inhabitants.Cities have the memory of confined emotions that are complex, contradictory and, in most cases, ambiguous. We could try to ignore all these emotions, but they will helplessly define the physical and cultural structure of our cities beyond the whim of its designers and governors. No hay duda de que la ciudad actual es caótica, compleja e inhóspita; pero ésta es amada al mismo tiempo que odiada por quienes la habitamos. A pesar de todos sus inconvenientes, los humanos preferimos vivir en un ambiente urbano.Presentamos aquí una serie de investigaciones que buscan conocer las pasiones que se desatan en una ciudad; que entienden las agrupaciones humanas urbanas como comunidades emocionales con dinámicas de identidad complejas, y de cohesión social, basadas en los afectos y emociones como constructores culturales narrativos sometidos al tiempo y al espacio. Las ciudades tienen la memoria de las emociones contenidas, que son complejas, contradictorias y en la mayoría de los casos, ambiguas. Podríamos intentar ignorar todas estas emociones, pero inevitablemente ellas definirán la estructura física y cultural de nuestras ciudades más allá del capricho de sus diseñadores o de sus gobernantes.
