Through a discussion of the collections held by Mexico City’s Academy of San Carlos, in particular the publications of its library, we can interrogate their place in the history of the institution and nineteenth century Mexican architecture. Este artículo busca ser una provocación de nuevos discursos a partir de los materiales de archivos arquitectónicos, entendidos más allá de los registros directos de la ideación y construcción de edificaciones, así como de planos y dibujos de personajes notables de la disciplina. En este sentido, a partir de una disertación sobre los acervos que pertenecieron a la Academia de San Carlos en la Ciudad de México, y en particular las publicaciones de su biblioteca, se cuestiona sobre su lugar en las historias de la institución y de la arquitectura mexicana del siglo XIX.
