Proposals made were thought for those who are today visitors-inhabitants in these spaces. This project enabled, in turn, provide the ruins with a present and a future by means of a re-significance that, once more, generates hospitality in what is habitable. Las ruinas cobran un sentido actual en la medida en que son espacios resignificados en un presente. El objeto de este artículo es exponer una reflexión a partir de la experiencia de diseñar medios interpretativos para el Plan de Interpretación en las oficinas salitreras de Santiago Humberstone y Santa Laura. Las propuestas que se llevaron a cabo fueron pensadas para quienes hoy son los visitantes-habitantes de estos espacios. Este trabajo permitió a su vez dotar de un presente y futuro a las ruinas, por medio de una resignificación que vuelve a generar hospitalidad en lo habitable.
