Summary: | The article presents the beginnings of productive work by Ediciones Universitarias de Valparaíso, in the period from 1969 to 1973, time in which became a reference to local publishers. It is shown that in these years, the publishing house shared some of the characteristics and ideals of, Quimantú, the greatest publishing exponent of that time, which represented the ideology and policies developed by the State in the government of the Unidad Popular. From its regional platform, Ediciones Universitarias de Valparaíso was set up as an initiative oriented to modify and complement the vision of the publishing production of that time, this by turning into a vehicle for the internal processes of the University to the local and national community, incorporating on its production popular and national contingency expressions. |
