The development of the narrative details key concepts, composing a multifaceted framework, based on studies from authors that refer to international documents, exploring different approaches related to the topic. The Recovery Plan for the Historic Centre of Bologna (1971-1984) allows for arguments on contemporary agenda issues regarding the preservation of cultural and environmental heritage. Este artículo aborda la pertinencia de las relaciones entre las prácticas de conservación del patrimonio arquitectónico y cultural y las discusiones relacionadas con los problemas ambientales que afligen especialmente a las grandes metrópolis en el escenario contemporáneo. El desarrollo de la narrativa pasa por conceptos clave, componiendo un cuadro multifacético, basado en consultas de autores que se remiten a documentos internacionales, explorando diferentes enfoques relacionados con el tema que aquí se trata. El Plan de Recuperación del Centro Histórico de Bolonia (1971-1984) permite discutir sobre estas cuestiones presentes en la agenda contemporánea, ligadas a la preservación del patrimonio cultural y ambiental. Este artigo aborda a pertinência das relações entre as práticas de conservação do patrimônio arquitetônico e cultural e as discussões relacionadas aos problemas ambientais que afligem especialmente as grandes metrópoles no cenário contemporâneo. O desenvolvimento da narrativa perpassa por conceitos-chave, compondo um quadro multifacetado, com base em consultas de autores que se remetem a documentos internacionais, explorando diferentes enfoques relacionados ao tema. O Plano de Recuperação do Centro Histórico de Bolonha (1971-1984) possibilita discutir acerca dessas questões presentes na agenda contemporânea, ligadas à preservação do patrimônio cultural e ambiental.
