It is precisely from the perspective of the latter –the philosophy of art–, that this question will be discussed, based on the look of the famous American pragmatist John Dewey. It is concluded firsthand that, in order to interpret the Deweyan thinking, it is necessary to refer to a philosophicalepistemological category called Experience, which, will come into line with the aesthetics: a quality that –according to Dewey– give shape and substance to the concept of aesthetic experience. La pregunta por el arte es un asunto que, más que a los propios artistas, ha inquietado a psicólogos, antropólogos, historiadores y, sobre todo, entre muchos otros académicos, a filósofos. Es precisamente desde esta última perspectiva, es decir, desde la filosofía del arte, que se analizará dicha pregunta, tomando como base la mirada del célebre pragmatista norteamericano John Dewey. Se concluye de primera mano que, para interpretar el pensamiento deweyano acerca del arte, es necesario remitirse a una categoría filosófica –y epistemológica– superior llamada Experiencia, la cual, entrará en consonancia con la Estética: cualidad que –según Dewey–, da forma y consistencia al concepto de experiencia estética.
