| Resumo: | In the last century, the issue of thermal perception in urban spaces has been of great interest for many researchers. The quality of the external environment greatly impacts the sustainability of cities because it influences pedestrian traffic and various outdoor activities, either improving or worsening the user experience. Despite extensive literature on thermal comfort and contrary to what has been verified in indoor spaces, outdoors, the application of thermal assessment systems based on the stationary state tend to overestimate the sensation of discomfort, and consequently do not truly represent user perception. This article explores the differences between the UTCI physiological adaptation model and the AVS psychological adaptation model for the definition of thermal sensation in outdoor spaces, in order to determine which is the most suitable for Madrid climate conditions and use in sustainable urban planning. |
