Conducted in the city of La Plata, Argentina, the study is based on the identification of defined urban areas, representative mosaics and residential buildings. A classification methodology was implemented at the building scale to identify typologies and establish current technological patterns and their possible replacements in order to achieve greater energy efficiency. A base scenario with current technologies was created, and large-scale recycling with the planned improvements was analyzed to thus optimize building envelopes and their habitability. With initial results, it is possible to evaluate potentialimprovements to measure the reduction in energy demand in the residential sector. El trabajo presenta una metodología orientada al desarrollo de pautas para el reciclado masivo de la envolvente edilicia residencial. Se aplica en la ciudad de La Plata, Argentina. Se aborda a partir de la identificación de áreas urbanas definidas, mosaicos representativos y la edilicia residencial. En la escala edilicia se implementa una metodología de clasificación que permite identificar tipologías y establecer los patrones tecnológicos actuales y sus posibles sustitutos con el objeto de lograr una mayor eficiencia energética. Se construyó un escenario base con las tecnologías actuales y se aborda el reciclaje generalizado con las mejoras previstas, optimizando la envolvente y su habitabilidad. La integración de los resultados parciales, permite evaluar las potenciales mejoras a los efectos de dimensionar la reducción de la demanda energética en el sector residencial.
