Descripció
Sumari:A significant part of the historic center of Camagüey is a World Heritage Site and, in turn, has a high concentration of the main commercial corridors of the city. As these are considered to be highly central spaces where the public converges, and due to their heritage relevance and deterioration, it was decided to intervene. A comprehensive process of conservation was carried out using the Patrimonial Intervention Methodology developed by CECONS. The deterioration at the urban architectural level and its causes, as well as the degree of protection were identified. In addition, the valid actions to be executed according to buildings and surroundings were determined. As a result, urban compatibility and integrated project management were used in this comprehensive conservation project, which guaranteed the quality of the interventions and the joint participation of the population and institutions, together with a cultural revitalization plan that makes it possible to regain these spaces of coexistence as an expression of citizen identity.
