Description
Summary:This article puts forward the idea that the issue of decentralisation in Chile has been introduced in the public agenda in response to administrative and political considerations more than ideological reasons sustained in “social market economy model”. The lack of an axiological and doctrinal framework for the decentralisation process is undoubtedly the main weakness of the Chilean process. For this reason, processes of re-democratisation through the re-structuring of the State and its functions, or the re-legitimacy of the State have been more important than any other consideration.
