The methodology considers the development of studies of characterization, thermal design and techno-constructive analysis, using vertical opaque natural materials for the envelope, which includes this one of volcanic origin. Internal temperatures below 23 °C have been obtained, while the outer face of the panel with insulation and no paint reaches 54 °C, with 830W/m2 of solar radiation. This demonstrates that it is possible to use Pomeca as filling in adequate thicknesses and as insulation panels, in order to reduce thermal losses at low costs. It integrates an alternative technological system using simple production and construction techniques and contributes to reduce energy expenses, satisfying different needs of the low income social groups and protecting the environment. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo el estudio de la pomeca puzolánica y el desarrollo experimental de un panel termoaislante para zonas áridas, destinado al acondicionamiento higrotérmico de viviendas de interés social de San Juan, teniendo en cuenta estándares mínimos de calidad. La metodología considera el desarrollo de estudios de caracterización, diseño térmico y análisis tecnoconstructivo utilizando cerramientos opacos verticales que incluyen como componente a este material natural de origen volcánico. Se han obtenido temperaturas interiores de 23 °C, mientras que la cara exterior de la placa vista con aislante sin pintar alcanza los 54 °C, con 830W/m2 de radiación solar. Se demuestra que es posible utilizar a la pomeca, incluida como relleno en adecuados espesores, y como placas aislantes, para poder disminuir pérdidas térmicas con bajos costos. Integrando un sistema tecnológico alternativo, que utiliza técnicas de producción y construcción sencillas, contribuye a mitigar gastos energéticos, satisfacer diferentes necesidades de grupos sociales con bajos recursos y proteger el ambiente.
