الملخص:Despite the fact that critics called many of his works of architecture 'postmodern', the Mexican Teodoro González de León always described his buildings as fully modern. This article proposes to delve into the relationship between his work and Le Corbusier's (for whom he worked towards the end of the 1940s). We will place special emphasis on the first three decades of his work and his quest for monumentality (a traditional quality of Mesoamerican architecture) as a contribution to the adoption of modernist principles in Latin America.
