Beskrivelse
Summary:This paper integrates a line of work that seeks to explore the link between modern architecture and the positivist credo laid down by the celebrated Vienna Circle, seen as the key source of the group’s conceptual identity. The research acknowledges the significance of this historical connection and follows its trail to the architecture produced in Uruguay between1930 and 1960. It looks to pin down the impact of the credo both in terms of its content and the way its prédica was reached. Within this examination, the discourse explored confirms the presence of certain key aspects belonging to the aforementioned ideology: architecture adopts the classical values of science and thus assumes strong epistemological commitments. This discovery is far from monolithic; rather it awakens new questions regarding the origin of these precepts.
