A tentative aclaration of the concept of 'common good' is attempted, analysing the underlying philosophical aspects and those which are established in the Political Constitution of the Republic of Chile. Examples are given of the current incoherence, between discourse and action, and it is shown how some institutions responsable for upholding the common good twist the interpretation of the law in favour of the private sector. The ethical imperative of territorial planning is highlighted. Se presenta un análisis de las estadísticas chilenas en materia de indicadores socioeconómicos; refiere los principios éticos de la planificación del territorio. Una tentativa de esclarecimiento del concepto de bien común, analizando los aspectos filosóficos que lo sustentan y lo establecido en la propia Constitución Política de la República de Chile. Se informa ejemplos de la incoherencia actual -entre discurso y obras-, y se ilustra cómo algunas instituciones encargadas de velar por el bien común tergiversan la interpretación de la ley a favor de sector empresarial.
