Una mirada sobre su resignificado. Alfonso González, Fabian Martín Rosa, Juan The evolution of cities in recent times has led to the development of large metropolitan cities characterized by traffic flows, large areas for production, consumption and work, huge shopping centers and zoning of residential areas according to the level socioeconomic. These guidelines impacted so that cities are fragmented and have led to the near extinction of public space. In contrast, there is an emergence of a series of projects aimed at social inclusion, at promoting citizen participation, at offering a place to the socially neglected, and at trying to build "bridges" in a visibly fragmented city. This paper takes 3 cases in the city of Montevideo, such as: Liber Seregni Square, Marconi Square and “Friendship Park”, as examples of an intervention methodology that has changed and adapted the meaning of public space.
