This process should provide housing solutions that include the qualitative dimension as a necessary contribution to the improvement of the quality of life of individuals. El artículo (que deriva del proyecto de investigación FONDECYT 91-0902), aboga por una gestión descentralizada de la acción habitacional que impulsa el Estado, específicamente la vivienda social, en el entendido que dicha acción no puede estar ajena al proceso de regionalización y descentralización que está experimentando el país en general. Los autores señalan que el resultado esperado de este proceso debiera representar el logro de soluciones habitacionales que incorporen efectivamente la dimensión cualitativa como un aporte necesario al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida.
