El artículo postula que los habitantes de las viviendas sociales intervienen las fachadas de sus casas con evidentes propósitos de comunicación, a partir de códigos significantes derivados de su cultura. Considera que estos antecedentes, de carácter semiótico, son medibles y pueden registrarse como atributos imprescindibles del hábitat popular, factibles y convenientes de incluirse en los futuros programas de la acción habitacional en el país.
