Sumario:In this article appears an alternative approach to the value of the popular habitat. Its production is considered a value in itself, intangible, where the cultural heap of the diverse towns that compose the Popular Habitat is expressed materialized in Architecture of high symbolic content. The arguments of this approach are constructed from sociological and anthropological conceptions that explain the semiotics of this physical expression that is so singular and always present in our Latin American cities.
