Description
Summary:The proposal of the article is to investigate about what is considered a novelty in the field of public policies oriented to the slums of the CABA: the coexistence of urbanizations aimed at promoting the “integration” of popular neighborhoods with public and private megaprojects of other kinds in surrounding areas. Attending one of the cases that we consider paradigmatic in this regard, we proceed to situate the urbanization process of Villa 31 in the context of the rehabilitation of the Retiro neighborhood. Based on this, it seeks to make a very succinct characterization of the urban projects and policies promoted during the 2015-2019 period in the neighborhood in question, which can be divided as follows: a) public works aimed at equipping, conditioning and / or beautify the area; b) sale of public lands for real estate development and c) the urban integration of Villa 31.
