总结: | France has a rich earthen architectural heritage with a major building culture: the pisé (rammed earth) in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This heritage was rediscovered in the 1970s, its potential response to contemporary challenges led to a number of initiatives based on this hypothesis. The construction of 65 flat housing in 1984 was a starting point. However, the market of earthen building construction in France is mainly focused on the reconversion of the enormous stock of traditional buildings dating back from the 19th and 20th centuries, while contemporary earthen architectural projects are still seen as an exception. New evolving norms and standards, as well as additional control measures, have been a brake for the development of this architecture. Nowadays some of them have started to be addressed, but the economic accessibility of building construction is still a pending issue, which costs can be reduced due the development of mechanization or prefabrication of constructive elements. |
