Resumo:This article explores the career path of the professional association established between the architects Juan Manuel Llauró and José Antonio Urgell, and goes in depth into the disciplinary principles and architectural proposals that defined their joint work. From an initial questioning to the rigid rationalism of the so-called Modern Movement in the mid-1950s, to a reflexive acceptance of technology in the 1970s, the text analyzes, from a historical perspective, how the Llauró-Urgell office of architecture was constituted as one of the main references of architectural professional practice in Argentina around those years. In response to the stated objectives, a special attention to issues associated with their personal biographies allows to identify certain peculiarities of their production with respect to their colleagues, and to link them with current debates in the architectural culture of the period.
