Sumario: | Leandro Bou i Ferrer was a Catalan builder who developed his activity in Spain and Argentina at the beginning of the 20th Century. The article analyzes Bou’s production in two of its most prominent facets: as a master builder and developer. The episodes of his life, marked by the various political crises and Spanish civil conflicts, took place successively in Barcelona, Rosario and Mendoza. These moments allowed, on one hand, to reconstruct the trajectory of a figure that contributed to the architectural culture in modernist times, and on the other, to detect a set of works that bear their stamp in both countries. The work focuses on the relationships he established with his clients, with other professionals and even with those institutions in which he participated. The example of his work was later transmitted to several of his descendants who continued, like him, the art of designing and building. |
