The practices that recurrently carry out for such purposes, outline relationships to the construction of sense of place and identity, as well as to reported subjective well-being and life satisfaction. The exercise described is intended to illustrate different stages of sense of place and its relation to subjective well-being from a case study. It derives from a larger scale research project; whose main axis was the study of neighborhood and house from the subjective well-being and satisfaction approach. The selection of the approach responded to the premise that it is from subjectivity that structures, relationships and objects are signified. The study takes place at Bahía de Kino Viejo, a fishing village and local tourism destination in the Mexican northwest desert. Although there are vacation homes of Americans who visit the town from November to February, inner municipality visitors are received throughout the year. Since its legal foundation in the mid-twentieth century, an imperative model of socio-spatial segregation was established.
