The objective of this article is to open the gaze to inhabit as an actthat occurs on the journey between spaces. Living, in architecture, is usually interpreted as anexperience that is determined by the analysis of a site and the subjectivity of the inhabitant. The house,in this sense, is understood as an element closely linked to its context. From an anthropologicalapproach that rescues narratives of the rarámuri house and migrant shelters, an experience of living aspart of a journey is proposed, where architecture is codified and signified from the situation of theinhabitant, changing, uprooted and constantly transit. The central argument is that life happens on theroad. Life is a constant movement that does not stop, why should the house do it? If the experience ofinhabiting imprints roots and belonging, this experience also occurs in intermediate places, inundefined spaces such as seasonal houses and temporary shelters. La casa no es un sitio, sino un trayecto. El objetivo de este artículo es abrir la mirada al habitar comoun acto que ocurre en el trayecto entre espacios. Habitar, en arquitectura, suele interpretarse como unaexperiencia que se determina por el análisis de un sitio y de la subjetividad del habitante. La vivienda,en este sentido, se entiendo como un elemento íntimamente ligado a su contexto. Desde un enfoqueantropológico que rescata narrativas de la vivienda rarámuri y los refugios de migrantes, se proponeuna experiencia de habitar como parte de un recorrido, donde la arquitectura se codifica y significa apartir de la situación del habitante, cambiante, desarraigada y en constante tránsito. El argumentocentral es que la vida ocurre en el camino. La vida es un movimiento constante que no se detiene ¿porqué la casa habría de hacerlo? Si la experiencia de habitar imprime arraigo y pertenencia, también estaexperiencia ocurre en sitios intermedios, en espacios indefinidos como las casas estacionales y losrefugios temporales.
