The researchis descriptive and the data used is quantitative, obtained through surveys applied to rural inhabitants. Theresearch shows actions of the villagers in terms of their involvement in activities directly related to thecare and protection of their natural resources, through different structures: social organization andparticipation in government programs. The results reflected diverse forms of involvement of theinhabitants, knowledge of the problems, plans for the care of flora and fauna, few actions towards thespecific problems of contamination (garbage and water), as well as their minimal participation in thedemands to improve their environment. The results reflect the problems of leadership and the deficienciesin generating rural organizations for environmental care. El estudio explora el comportamiento organizacional de los pobladores en comunidadesrurales ubicadas en polígonos de Áreas Naturales Protegidas (ANP) en el estado de Chihuahua, México.La investigación es de corte descriptivo y por los datos utilizados es cuantitativo obtenidos a través deencuestas aplicadas a los pobladores rurales. La investigación muestra las acciones de los pobladores encuanto a la participación en actividades directas al cuidado y protección de sus recursos naturales,mediante diversas estructuras: organización social y participación en programas de gobierno. Losresultados reflejaron diversas formas de involucramiento de los habitantes, conocimiento de lasproblemáticas, planes de cuidado de flora y fauna, pocas acciones hacia los problemas específicos decontaminación (basura y agua), así como la mínima participación de los mismos en cuanto a las demandaspor mejorar sus entornos. Los resultados reflejan los problemas de liderazgo y las deficiencias para quese generen organizaciones rurales para el cuidado ambiental.
