Currently it is a territory that is characterized by having a richnatural and cultural heritage, tangible and intangible. Cultural assets (tombs and mausoleums)are at risk of loss due to different factors, ranging from the lack of a conservation andinstitutional protection plan, the abandonment of the oldest tombs, earthquakes and naturalevents that cause deterioration, until the population and local authorities are unaware of thefunerary historical heritage contained in this space. Given this panorama, this research aimed tocatalog some assets that are likely to be heritage. As the main criterion, the concept of culturalitinerary, proposed by ICOMOS (2008), was taken into account to observe the culturalexchanges that enriched the life and culture of Puebla. This allowed proposing a cultural route,which tells the history of the cemetery and the city, with this it is intended to start a process of local patrimonialization that consolidates the conservation of the cemetery as an urbandocument, involving society to generate identity with the place. El cementerio de la Piedad fue inaugurado a fines del siglo XIX como un panteón católico yprivado en Puebla. Actualmente es un territorio que se caracteriza por contar con un ricopatrimonio natural y cultural tangible e intangible. Los bienes culturales (tumbas y mausoleos)están en riesgo de pérdida a causa de diferentes factores, que van desde la falta de un plan deconservación y protección institucional, el abandono de las tumbas más antiguas, los sismos ylos eventos naturales que causan deterioro, hasta el desconocimiento de la población y lasautoridades locales del acervo histórico funerario contenido en este espacio. Dado estepanorama, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo catalogar algunos bienes que son susceptiblesde ser patrimonio. Como criterio principal se tomó en cuenta el concepto de itinerario cultural,propuesto por el ICOMOS (2008), para observar los intercambios culturales que enriquecieronla vida y la cultura de Puebla. Esto permitió proponer una ruta cultural, la cual narra la historiadel cementerio y de la ciudad, con ello se pretende dar inicio a un proceso de patrimonializaciónlocal que consolide la conservación del cementerio como documento urbano, involucrando a lasociedad para generar identidad con el lugar.
