Summary:The real estate industry has represented being the engine of economic growth in Latin Americancities over the past forty years. This involves the construction of housing complexes, equipmentand infrastructure, extending its territory towards urban boundaries. This model of urban growthhas become widespread in the country of Mexico, so this work aims to show some of thestrategies that have been carried out for the population of the peripheral areas in each city. Thecity of Culiacán, Sinaloa, is referred to as the object of study. Through an urban diagnosis, thisprocess of urban growth is outlined and a brief description of temporary periods of the role thatdevelopment plans and real estate companies have played to promote the extension of theterritory. In the construction of this work and through systematic observation, we realize thatgradually, the construction of housing by real estate companies prevails in urban boundaries,defining in parallel characteristics promotion for the procurement of housing located in theoutlying areas
