Resumo:From the first mobility process for tourism purposes, one of the prevailing needs has been thelodging. Over time and due to multiple factors, tourism development went through differentstages and the needs of lodging were transformed and created a series of typologies, such as thetraditional hotel, timeshare, second residence and in recent years, the collaborative lodging. Thislast model of residential tourist lodging was motivated by the digital transformation and itsinfluence on information and communication technologies, social networks and access culture, which together are triggering an accelerated real estate development form lodging purposes inthe main tourist destinations. Puerto Vallarta is no exception, and the real estate business found in collaborative tourism an important incentive to expand the touristic area by building new andmodern towers of departments for tourist use in the residential spaces of the local population, which they market under the scheme of digital platforms such as Airbnb. Situation that generatesa series of tensions with the local community, given the threat of displacement and the alterationof their daily life environment.
