The information was collected in the field, and organized in a population made up of the number of students present in the author Design workshops, in a period of 5 regular academic semesters. This occurs in a context where the teaching of architecture has been distinguished with characteristics for understanding the Architectural Object as a final product, its dissection into parts, and as a representation of a response to a design problem. This attitude could lead to dissipating attention from important moments where knowledge is collected and recorded, as well as particular experiences. Added to this is the fact that in the process of synthesis and definition of the final Architectural Object, the architectural project is ignored as a complex whole El propósito de este trabajo es describir a través de un estudio monográfico de carácter analítico crítico, de qué manera el Diagrama como instrumento de representación gráfica se convierte en la cartografía del proceso proyectual. La información fue recolectada en campo, y organizada en una población compuesta por la cantidad de estudiantes presentes en los talleres de diseño a cargo del autor, en un periodo de 5 semestres académicos regulares. Esto ocurre en un contexto donde la enseñanza de la arquitectura se ha distinguido con características por entender al Objeto Arquitectónico como producto final, la disección del mismo en partes, y como representación de una respuesta ante un problema de diseño. Esta actitud corre el riesgo de disipar la atención de momentos importantes donde se recolectan y registran conocimientos, además de experiencias particulares.
