Through the participatory and exploratory observation carried out in the section located on Avenida 20, from Avenida Vargas to Avenida Rómulo Gallego, it has 2.59 km, a series of deficiencies were found indicated by cyclists, pedestrians and drivers, expressing the need for a bicycle path, with which the services of parking for bicycles and separators between vehicles and pedestrians can be offered. Being a sustainable solution to the road and environmental problem. Thus, the importance of all the conditioning factors of cyclist mobility was highlighted, for a more refined layout of a cycle path in an urban environment. It was considered an innovative and multifunctional project, projecting that its route be in the area of ​​shops and cultural spaces, adding to the task of minimizing the environmental impact in the center of Barquisimeto En este artículo se propone el diseño de una ciclovía para la ciudad de Barquisimeto, Venezuela, generando mejoras a la demanda de infraestructuras adecuadas para los usuarios de modos no motorizados. Mediante la observación participativa y exploratoria realizada en el tramo ubicado en la Avenida 20, desde la Avenida Vargas hasta la Avenida Rómulo Gallegos, cuenta con 2,59 km, se encontró una serie de carencias señaladas por los ciclistas, peatones y conductores, expresando la necesidad de una ciclovía, con la cual se puedan ofrecer los servicios de, estacionamiento para las bicicletas y los separadores entre vehículos y peatones. Siendo una solución sustentable frente al problema vial y ambiental. Se destacó así, la importancia de todos los factores condicionantes de la movilidad ciclista, para un trazado más afinado de una ciclovía en un entorno urbano.
