This research is done by analyzing eigh- teenth century plans, through identification of ex- isting ditches in Mexico City during this period, and its current trajectory in a plane, performing both an analysis of their influence on residen- tial architecture, determining the characteristics of the houses in the path of the canals, by classi- fying canal houses, depending on the level of re- lationship between these two constructive genera.
