Résumé:In the late nineteenth and early twentieth cen- tury, Mexico City experienced changes, such as expansion of the urban area - with the construc- tion of colonies like Santa María de la Ribera -, and industrial development, besides need spaces , changed the social dynamics and urban landscape. This article analyzes these processes at the local level, to study the industrial building in the colo- ny, between 1900 and 1930. Through the study of three representative cases, it is presented the char- acteristics of the factories that were established in this area in the period studied and the difficul- ties had to be included into a residential context.
