Description
Résumé:The objective is to problematize the process of urbanization of the national territory by metropolitan and regional relations in the urban space. The object of analysis is the federal planning actions (policies, plans, programs and infrastructure provision) from the 1990s onwards and their understanding of the results from the relation of consolidation of the urban-urban migratory movement and of the new regional functions of cities. In view of a foreign theoretical-conceptual framework of productive restructuring, international division of labor and global urbanization, this analysis highlights the particularities of the urbanization process in Brazil and concludes by identifying a transition from territorial ordering based on the polarization of metropolitan space to the constitution of nodal territories which trend to networks.
