This text works with the hypothesis that from an experience, which is by definition subjective, architecture offers itself as a mirror, and, in doing so, performs an essential role in the constitution of the subject. The theoretical reference comes from architecture (Quatremère de Quincy) and of psychoanalysis (Lacan). The text argues that the imaginary dimension of architecture opens up a field of research on the theory of architecture that is as incipient as it is fascinating. El objetivo del texto es llamar la atención para la dimensión especular de la relación sujeto-espacio edificado. Se trabaja con la hipótesis de que, a partir de una experiencia esencialmente subjetiva, la arquitectura se ofrece como espejo y, al hacerlo, desempeña papel esencial en la constitución del sujeto. Las referencias teóricas vienen de la arquitectura (Quatremère de Quincy) y de la psicanálise (Lacan). Se concluye el texto argumentando que la dimensión imaginária de la arquitectura abre posibilidades de pesquisas tan incipientes cuánto fascinantes en la teoría de la arquitectura. O objetivo do texto é chamar a atenção para a dimensão especular da relação sujeito-espaço edificado. Trabalha-se com a hipótese de que, a partir de uma experiência essencialmente subjetiva, a arquitetura se oferece como espelho e, ao fazê-lo, desempenha papel essencial na constituição do sujeito. As referências teóricas vêm da arquitetura (Quatremère de Quincy) e da psicanálise (Lacan). Conclui-se o texto argumentando que a dimensão imaginária da arquitetura abre possibilidades de pesquisas tão incipientes quanto fascinantes na teoria da arquitetura. Universidade de São Paulo.
