It points out to the auto-construction project of houses proposed by this program as a part of a planning model that, submitted to the intervention of international programs, tried to approach from integral perspective main problems of the Colombian urban surroundings happening at the second half of XX century. Este artículo aborda el tema de la planeación urbana en el escenario bogotano de la década de los cincuenta a partir de la experiencia del Centro Interamericano de Vivienda y Planeamiento Urbano, CINVA. En tal sentido, se remite al proyecto de autoconstrucción de viviendas propuesto por este programa como parte de un modelo de planeación que, sujeto a la intervención de entes internacionales, pretendió abordar de manera integral las principales problemáticas del entorno urbano colombiano hacia la segunda mitad del siglo XX.
