Shrnutí:Through the process of the urbanization of Bogota’s eastern hills, critical points within territorial disputes were identified. The urban entities observed, results from which are included in this article, were: El Triangulo, Corinto and Manantial and San Jeronimo del Yuste Urbanization, promoted by the Family Compensation Fund Compensar; located southeast of the city in a forest reserve zone. Despite their close proximity and shared biophysical characteristics, their treatment by the district administration with regard to land use distribution is different, in both legal terms and public policy actions. Thus it is considered that networks of power exist that define the forms of use, regulation and distribution of territory. It is proposed to develop an analysis of power relations in the social construction of territory in the neighborhoods and urban area mentioned. The categories of power relations, social construction of territory and language as an element of social interaction will be used in the analysis. The analysis will be used to promote a discussion on a model of the city based on the meaning of territory.
