Description
Summary:The study of comfort is relevant because provides information to generate urban planning policies. In this context, climate comfort was studied in Bahia Blanca city, Argentina applying different time-scales: seasonal (summer and winter), monthly and daily. Ten meteorological stations that registered temperature and relative humidity information in high frequency were located in diverse neigh- borhoods. Humidex, thermo-anemometric and thermo-hygrometric indexes were calculated to characterize the summer comfort as well as equivalent temperature for the winter. The results permitted to identify different areas according to the discomfort and comfort conditions during the summer and winter considering the number of days with temperatures below 0oC. Three urban areas were delimited considering similar comfort conditions. The study could be relevant to the design of public policies in order to prevent negative e ects of extreme thermal event on the inhabitants.
