Sumari:This article presents an analysis of the public policy of land use planning in Bogotá, taking as a case study its Master Plan of Cemeteries and Funeral Equipment to demonstrate the potential to contribute to an environmentally sustainable human development that the transformation of these infrastructures has. For its elaboration a critical - analytical methodology was followed that in a first stage contrasts a conceptual framework elaborated from the environmental epistemology raised by authors like Enrique Leff and Boaventura de Sousa Santos with the orientation of the territorial ordering in Bogotá; in a second stage, it describes repercussions of this contrast in the proposal of funerary equipment within the framework of the Master Plan and its related structures. After these stages, the public policies on the subject were followed up to establish the impact they have had on behalf of the vulnerable populations they seek to benefit, to conclude with some recommendations on the potential of these equipment in the search for a better quality of life for urban environments.
