Crynodeb:This article, based on the PhD thesis in Geography of one of the authors, makes a brief conceptual tour around the geographical field, especially from the critical perspective of social geography, to reflect on the difficulties of access to habitat in the city; theproduction of informal settlements; the political and power dimension of the concept of territory to think about the processes of regularization and urbanization of these settlements; the spatial logics of state intervention aimed at the regularization of urban informality; and the experience of the subjects that inhabitthese territories. Although the emphasis of the article is conceptual, the city of Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut, Argentina) is taken as a case study to contextualize and spatialize the discussion.
