Crynodeb:Landscape production manifests a long-standing process of interaction between society and nature, which is why it is understood as a social construction. This article contributes to characterize water, society and planning relationships in a landscape key. By means of a diachronic analysis we identify the landscapes in the fluvial system of the Salí River in the metropolitan context of Tucumán, in correspondence with the ruptures in the forms, and logics of appropriation according to the different styles of development and modes of action. Four landscapes are defined: roots, innovators, hybrids and in dispute. The results contribute to recognize the river as a juxtaposition of representative landscapes for the metropolis. Beyond the multiple environmental services offered by the fluvial system, this resource involves a cultural and infrastructural dimension, due to its identity character and its founding role in the successive stages of metropolitan development.
