Sumario:Urban parks play a crucial role in quality of life, for this purpose, some city administrations have intervened public parks, something that has not been free from citizens protests rejecting this type of intervention. This article includes a case study, that of Japan park, in Bogotá, as an emblematic case of some of the communities that opposed the transformations of some parks in the city. Information was collected and analyzed by interviews, messages on social networks and communications from the city administration to trying to understand the problem. The study identifies as a possible explanation of the tensions the mismanagement of the projects by not promoting an adequate participation. Recommendations are given that can contribute to preventing this type of future tensions in urban transformation projects.
